This chapel is said to have been towards the north end of what is now Elgin Street in Dunfermline. It may be a chapel referred to in charters as early as the fourteenth century, which mention a -Lady Chapell near Dunfermling- and -Virgin Chapple near Dunfermling-. The chapel was destroyed by Cromwell-s troops in the 1650s and was certainly ruinous by 1783. The final remains were removed in 1814, though there may be evidence of the building under modern developments.
